GOOD BREEDING FUND ENJOYS DANCER'S DAUGHTER'S GLORY
4 x Gr.1 wins for half sister to Princess Magdalena
4th Jul 2008
The young mare PRINCESS MAGDALENA, resident at Barnane Stud co. Tipperary, in foal to Hurricane Run and with a Hawk Wing colt foal at foot, yesterday became half sister to a four times Group 1 winning champion when British bred DANCER'S DAUGHTER (Act One - Reason to Dance) dead-heated in the Vodacom July, South Africa's premier race, at Greyville. Her co-winner was double Met winner POCKET POWER, a son of JET MASTER. Both horses are superstars in their own country and can take on the best.
Top South African form can be world-beating form with SUN CLASSIQUE and JAY PEG the most recent examples in a long line. DANCER'S DAUGHTER's future is right now under scrutiny but she is very likely to "go international" having picked up four Gr.1s including two against colts.PRINCESS MAGDALENA, a winner in England and also half sister to Gr.3 winning 2yo DIKTATORIAL, was purchased by Allan Bloodlines at Goffs Breeding Stock Sale in November 2007 and placed in the Good Breeding investment fund (principal Philip Brown) managed by the company. With Allan Bloodlines very acive in South Africa, reports on DANCER'S DAUGHTER - then Gr.3 placed - were very favourable and Allan took the chance.
