Allan bids to continue the series of Tattersalls Ireland sourced successes

24th Sep 2008

Allan Bloodlines made its customary effort to secure several yearlings at the Tattersalls Ireland September Yearling Sales this week and came home very pleased with the purchases. The sale has yielded the winners of 33 races and stakes places for the company in recent years, a winners to purchase ratio of 77%.

The Sale company's announcement summed things up neatly: "Allan Bloodlines is another operation who have sourced many a highly rated runner from this sale in the past, and returned for more this year, buying four in total".

Although Allan had also been underbidder on a nicely bred Camacho filly for a client looking for future breeding potential, all four purchases were colts from a customarily short short list prepared by the selection team of David Allan, Danni O'Neill and Sascha Mills.

The colts are by BACHELOR DUKE, sire of a recent Group winner from his first crop and this fellow, one of the best made colts in the sale, by XAAR, recently less fashionable but in this racy case the male half of a beautiful mating, by MONSIEUR BOND, a strong 2 year old type and full brother to an '08 2 year old double winner, and by FATH, in this case a really cracking, strong, good looking sort by the sire of Allan Bloodlines' successful multiple winners DON'T PANIC and FATHOM FIVE.

The sale figures were down year on year which is hardly surprising given the daily headlines, but as is the case in general, there was sufficient competition for the better offerings.
