600 strong catalogue - selling 23 April onwards

20th Mar 2010

The creme de la creme of South Africa's thoroughbred yearlings will be on offer near Johannesburg 23-26 April.   Prospective buyers can take advantage of complimentary hotel accommodation and a contribution to airfares.  Contact Allan Bloodlines for details.  The catalogue can be found on

The country is increasingly producing international performers as witnessed by Mike de Kock's current form in Dubai approaching the World Cup.   Meanwhile, the domestic glamour targets of the J&B Met, L'Ormarins Queen's Plate and Vodacom July to name but three are there to offer great days of sport along with everyday racing where a win in a maiden pays for almost five months.

Allan Bloodlines is a regular purchaser at the sale and is running at well over 70% winners to selections in South Africa and over 90% winners or placed.   Although once buying a sale topper at the equivalent of £275,000 to secure a truly international pedigree, Allan's recommended purchasing range is the equivalent of approximately £10 - 45,000.  Above that, there needs to be a special reason to compete with the deepest pockets (because £100,000 can buy a nice horse anywhere you like!).  The key is value and manageable costs - and great fun.
