HORSE NAMED FOR WEST HAM UNITED WINS HIS SIXTH
Allan purchase C'mon You Irons scores at Kempton
12th Aug 2010
This evening at Kempton, a horse named by fans of West Ham United after the chant from the terraces "C'MON YOU IRONS" bounced back to form with his sixth win.
Bought by Allan Bloodlines for €21,000, this tough son of ORPEN was originally owned 75% by two groups of West Ham fans, one of which had already enjoyed several wins with Allan managed horses. After winning with Bryan Smart at 2, the majority owners took 100% and moved the horse to Mark Hoad where he remains today having changed hands since.
Over 20 Allan yearling purchases in relatively recent years, mostly within modest budgets at sales in Ireland and England, have won at least 2 and as many as 11 races each (average nearly 5 wins per yearling amongst these multiple winners), with another dozen single winners so far. The Allan winner rate in England per selected yearling is 75%.
