Extraordinary vision becomes a stunning reality

31st Jan 2011

The inaugural CAPE PREMIER YEARLING SALE on 27th-28th January was an enormous sucess in a large number of respects and is a signpost to a vibrant future for selling excellent yearlings in the centre of Cape Town.

The South African breeding industry and especially Klawervlei Stud, Bloodstock South Africa and the country's department of Trade and Industry invested greatly in turning the vision into reality, complete with oceans of hospitality in which South Africa is already a world leader.

The sale venue was something of which to be immensely proud, as well as being an entirely functional and workable location for stabling and viewing yearlings.  It's opening ceremony was emotionally brilliant and the sale itself, considering the unfamiliarity within such an enormous auditorium section, went very well overall once familiarity set in and the pace of selling became stable.

Allan Bloodlines had taken a team of a dozen professionals from UK and USA, each with differing potential interests.  The core welcome events and hugely helpful transport and tour arrangements were supplemented by Allan with their own hospitality.  The group studied and discussed in great detail also enjoying the hospitality of Klawervlei Stud at their beautiful Lunch Party and at the J&B Met.  Other organisations contributed and hosted and, at the same time, the Allan group gelled so well as to enjoy many excursions and late nights!

Allan purchased a filly for syndication and will be issuing a full report soon on the event soon.
