Allan sold 1 bought 1 - maybe another dam of future winners?

27th May 2013

Allan Bloodlines had a quiet BSA Cape Mare/Weanling/Mixed Sale late last week at an attractively leafy and spacious venue - albeit needing a facelift - near Worcester in the Western Cape.  "Sold 1 - Bought 1" was the result with the purchase coincidentally at the same modest price (27k) as the purchase of BEHURRYUP at the 2012 renewal.

BEHURRYUP joined the Allan band and produced an excellent ORACY filly foal.  She is now in foal to TIGER DANCE. This time, the purchase was ACADEMIC PATH (AUS) a shade light on 1st dam pedigree but from a busy Australasian family and a beautiful young individual by the excellent ROYAL ACADEMY with a BLACK MINNALOUSHE yearling and a SEVENTH ROCK weanling to run for her.  Purchased in foal to another Allan-represented stallion ELUSIVE FORT, ACADEMIC PATH is for a client and will also visit TIGER DANCE.

The sale had some stars - a R775k young black type mare by CAPTAIN AL dissolving a partnership and a very American EL PRADO mare in foal to the impressive looking young Highlands sire PATHFORK.  She made R340k, knocked down to Craig Carey of Arc En Ciel.  Mares in foal to GIMMETHEGREENLIGHT were in demand, and some weanlings made real weanling sale prices particularly in the Chechen President's dispersal.  But the median at R 25,000 told the tale of half the stock offered and Allan was pleased to sell at above the median wishing the new connections the best of fortune.
