If you have entrenched arrangements in this regard with which you are happy, this letter becomes irrelevant. I would not wish to suggest disturbing them and neither would you!
If, on the other hand, you would be interested in receiving fresh input, my purpose is to let you know that Allan Bloodlines now has capacity for a small number of additional clients on the breeding side of the business – my own preferred activity.
Breeding consultancy and management is the most absorbing strand of our international business. We are employed to select and purchase, as well as to review broodmare bands (large or small) and to recommend policy per broodmare; also to comment on or actually arrange matings.
CC Counting only (1) mares that have had runners from 2010 onwards, we have sourced 54 and (2) those that have not yet had a chance to have runners, we have sourced 40...
....of the 54, just over 80% have had at least first foal (or first foal after purchase) winners. Many have been under our management, although of course we also purchase to hand over to breeders taking a continuous interest such as tracking family members and keeping breeders updated. We await more runners from the 54 and from the 40 with anticipation.
We analyse closely prospective foals, progeny on the ground and close relatives - looking for added value. Such was the case with the young mare that became the dam of multiple stakes winner CASPAR NETSCHER and another multiple winner, bought by us very reasonably. There are other examples in all the 4- and 5-figure price ranges. We rarely chase obvious mares but have gone to 6 figures if, for example, exchange rates overseas have been especially favourable.
I shall be spending October mixing the yearling sales in UK with commitments overseas. But from early /mid November will be available for the whole run of breeding stock sales in Ireland, England and France.
Our services can be secured on a commission basis, or retainer plus commission depending on the task and the client’s preference. Transparency in dealings is total. I was one of those who drew up the Codes of Conduct.
