DON'T PANIC - KERRIN MCEVOY DIDN'T

Nice win at Goodwood for Fairyhouse graduate

3rd Sep 2007

Allan Bloodlines purchased four yearlings on the first day of Tattersalls Ireland September Yearling Sales today at Fairyhouse encouraged in the later afternoon by DON'T PANIC's exciting win at Goodwood for their purchasing and management client Tony Webb.

Selected from the same sale two years ago, the son of Fath had won impressively at 2 as well as placing at Glorious Goodwood and in the valuable sales race at The Curragh. At 3, DON'T PANIC started erratically but benefited from gelding, returning to be 3rd at Sandown before starting at Goodwood on ground firmer than he likes.

Declared in Goodwood's sharp mile rather than the 7 furlong alternative, DON'T PANIC needed to be dropped in and eased round and down the early hill. Kerrin McEvoy achieved this perfectly and wisely came a bit wide with his run. The chestnut ran arrow straight and confirmed trainer Peter Chapple-Hyam's optimism, pulling out all the stops and nailing the 2nd on the line in a thrilling photo finish.

Tony Webb and guests were on hand to enjoy the moment to the full.
