Allan Bloodlines' Happy Hunting Ground

5th Sep 2007

The Tattersalls Ireland September Yearling Sale has been the most happy of hunting grounds for the Allan Bloodlines team. Royal Ascot winning 2 year old Titus Alone and current high quality sprinter Fathom Five are the speediest of the Allan Bloodlines purchases at Fairyhouse, whilst Little Venice and Keyaki have won eleven races between them at 6-7 furlongs, several of which have been at Newmarket and Goodwood.

All but one of Allan's purchases at Fairyhouse over several years have won - including 2 and 3yo winner Don't Panic who won earlier this week at Goodwood. This excludes the 2007 2 year olds although an Orpen colt has now won, a Mujadil colt has been 2nd and will improve and a Kyllachy filly is not a 2 year old but may be another Keyaki in the making.

At the 2007 renewal of the sale this week, plenty of nuggets were available to be mined from the first day's rather patchy offering and Allan Bloodlines secured four yearlings.

To be trained in Newmarket for clients, a smart colt from the first crop of top 2 year old Elusive City together with a tough, neat looking half brother to Prior's Lodge by the illustrious Peintre Celebre are on their way to England. Pyrus (Mr Prospector) is a low profile stallion but nevertheless won the Richmond Stakes at Goodwood (Gr.2) before picking up Gr.3 and Listed races in the USA. His colt from a family well known to Allan was another purchase and the day ended with the capture of a Royal Applause filly with good updates in her pedigree and a potentially high class full brother.

The Pyrus colt will be offered for partnership and the Royal Applause filly already has suitors but will be reviewed in the New Year.
