DON'T PANIC SLUICES UP AT GOODWOOD
Repeat course and distance win
13th Oct 2007
This afternoon at Goodwood on Soft ground in which he revelled, DON'T PANIC followed up his September course and distance success with an emphatic win in another mile handicap. Goodwood has been kind recently to Allan Bloodlines purchased and managed runners.Given a most artful ride by Kerrin McEvoy, the chestnut gelding came up the middle of the course in complete command with a furlong to go. He had achieved that advantage by being taken to the back from his wide draw and worked all across the back of the field to take the rail approaching the bend. With the leading jockeys heading for the stands side because of the ground, DON'T PANIC was left free and clear to choose his line.Cruising into the final furlong he pulled away to win by four lengths. The handicapper may hit him hard if taking this literally - The Racing Post rated the run at 101 - but the ground played a part and the field was strung out at the finish.Owner Tony Webb and guests were again treated to a great day on a top class racecourse courtesy of DON'T PANIC, trainer Peter Chapple-Hyam and jockey Kerrin McEvoy.
