Allan Bloodlines comes away with three in foal mares

23rd Nov 2007

SHIODA is a seven year old mare by BAHRI out of a BLUSHING GROOM member of the rich in black type family of LAHIB and GENERAL HOLME. Last night, she became an Allan Bloodlines purchase for €130,000 and the property of a British investor.

Characterised by having already produced 2 year old black type in her first foal, and having a list of good 2 year olds under her own first dam, this attractive mare is a very exciting prospect and not at all expensive.

PRINCESS MAGDALENA has a South African flavour being half sister to a current black type filly in that country - a GB bred daughter of ACT ONE - but she is also half sister to recent UK 2 year old Gr.3 winner DIKTATORIAL. In foal to Allan favourite HAWK WING on an early cover, this young winning daugher of PENNEKAMP and a very effective dam of five other winners, REASON TO DANCE, multiple black type placed including 2nd in the Falmouth Stakes then Gr.2 and now Gr.1 has joined the family.

Also in the team now is the NIGHT SHIFT mare BEECHESVILLE a four year old granddaughter of COCKADE with a splash of black type right through her first dam. In foal to Darley first season sire LIBRETTIST on a good mid March cover, BEECHESVILLE did not make her reserve and was bought privately by Allan, working with two other equal partners in a three way professional "punt".
