KISSES FOR ME JOINS GOOD BREEDING
Young Sadler's Wells mare is added to the team
4th Dec 2007
In a focussed attempt to add to the Keeneland and Goffs-purchased holdings of the investment vehicle "Good Breeding", David Allan whittled selections down to a short list of just five enticing mares at Tattersalls yesterday. It turned out that these five were sold in the range of 180,000 - 350,000 guineas, all within grasp. One was passed, one saw Allan cautiously under-bidding whilst waiting for the eventual purchase and one made well above Allan's valuation but endorsed the market trend that places a premium on untried youth - in this case, a 4 year old Danehill mare rated just 61 on the track and in foal for the first time.Lot 2249 was the actual purchase and always the first choice as an individual. At 300,000 guineas, Allan just outlasted efforts from truly renowned judges such as Seamus Burns (Lodge Park), Barouche Stud and Brian Grassick. She is KISSES FOR ME, a 6 year old black type placed 2 year old winner by SADLER'S WELLS out of a young GULCH mare who has already produced two other winners including "Kisses" full sister, a recent Gr.1 placed 2 year old winner. The 2nd dam is double Gr.1 and quintuple Gr.2 winner SABIN, by LYPHARD.KISSES FOR ME has a FUSAICHI PEGASUS yearling filly, an ELUSIVE QUALITY filly foal and is in foal on an early cover to excellent U.S. sire PULPIT.
